Spark8 (spark8.xyz) is an online toolbox. It gathers the small utilities people reach for repeatedly in study, office work, development and teaching: format conversion, encoding and cryptography, text handling, image and PDF work, lookups, plus a set of classroom tools for teachers. The catalogue currently lists more than 80 tools grouped by category.

How we build things

• If it can run in the browser, it runs in the browser. Encoding/decoding, hashing, JSON and regex work, PDF merge/split/watermark, text-to-speech, Chinese script conversion, date/BMI/tip-splitting math and fake-data generation never leave your device.
• Tools that need a network answer (currency rates, IP geolocation, DNS / WHOIS / SSL checks, phone-number registry) are queried by our server from public sources. What leaves the site and to whom is itemised in the Privacy Policy.
• We do not integrate third-party services that require applying for an API key or a paid credential. Features we cannot build without one are simply not shipped — we do not hand you a field for your own key.
• We do not fabricate results. External data such as public-holiday tables, exchange rates and geolocation carry their source and coverage; outside that coverage the tool degrades honestly and says so.

Tools for teachers

Roll call, seating planner, random grouping, question picker, class timer, noise meter, classroom vote, timetable builder and grade analysis. The grade analyser takes pasted scores and computes bands, standard deviation and pass rates locally — class lists are not uploaded.

Free and paid

Most tools are free forever. A few require points or membership: points come from check-ins, tasks or purchase, and membership unlocks the advanced set. Payments run through WeChat transfer; an order is granted after screenshot-based automatic matching and a manual review. Card rails from overseas are no longer supported. Not yet available

AI writing, AI translation, AI code assistant, AI image generation and the prompt gallery in the catalogue are not online. The reason is the third bullet above: they depend on model services that need an API key, and until a compliant self-hosted model is in place we will not ship them as "enter your key" forms or fake buttons.
